The Great Cloth Diaper Hunt!

The Great Cloth Diaper Hunt (GCDH) is just about to start. The GCDH is a fun chance to learn about a whole bunch of cool mom run businesses, while earning the chance to win prizes and finding some discounts.

Little for Now is sponsoring the Tenth semi-annual Great Cloth Diaper Hunt™! This is our third time as a sponsor, and this time we are going EXTREME!

How does the GCDH work? Simply register at Then you visit all the participating sponsor sites and hunt for the Diaper Decisions™ diaper, to earn entries to the 90 random prize drawings, including Two Grand Prizes and one Ultimate Grand Prize!

For more details about this fun event, please visit the Rules and FAQ pages at

Oh, and what is extreme? Each time the hunt happens, a small number of sponsors are allowed to sign up as an “extreme sponsor.” That means we get to work a little harder to make the hunt more challenging. We get to hide our icon in a more difficult spot so you need to solve harder hints in order to solve it.

The Great Cloth Diaper Hunt can be addicting, so be sure to budget your time for it! You’ll get to see a lot of fun cloth diaper sites as well as some other sites that sell mama pads, gift cards, handmade soap and lots of other goodies.

As always, I’ll be offering discounted and sale items as well as brand new items on the Little for Now site throughout the hunt month (November). Click here to check out our specials on cloth diapers

Don’t forget to sign up for the hunt – and mention Little for Now in your application, please! It helps us know you are out there!

Cloth Diapers: Muttaqin Baby Review

Muttaqin baby cloth diaper on medium setting

Muttaqin baby cloth diaper on medium setting

I’d been hearing good things about the Muttaqin Baby cloth diaper for some time, so I finally took the time to order one for review. I was pleasantly surprised to see how good the prices were for a handmade bamboo diaper. No, they are not cheap, but they are a good price for the quality.

I ordered a Muttaqin Baby 3SR (three step rise) one size diaper in a pretty blue Hawaii print with soft blue inner since we are already inundated with girly prints and I am trying to build up at least some stash that will work if we have a boy someday (keep your fingers crossed for us! we are struggling with fertility issues again).

What soft, squishy diapering fluffiness! These diapers are very trim fitting and very soft. I just got word that Michelle, the WAHM behind Muttaqin Baby diapers, has added two more layers of absorbency to all her diapers. This is really good news since my only complaint about this diaper is that it is simply not absorbent enough for my little girl. With the new layering, they should be great for day time use for most babies.

The 3SR or three step rise adjustment allows you to fold the diaper down to fit from newborn to toddler. The trim fit means these should fit very nicely even on a tiny baby. Since they are stretchy they should fit well beyond the 20 pounds my little girl is now. We do have a lot of trouble getting most diapers to fit her well since she is long and skinny. I was delighted to see that the Muttaqin Baby 3SR fits her very nicely with plenty of room to grow. She is getting too tall for many diapers in medium, but is not heavy enough for a medium. With the Muttaqin, she is solidly on a medium setting.

The print did fade some with several washings, but dark prints are going to fade with the heavy washing that cloth diapers get. Overall, Iike this diaper. I wish I had tried it with the new absorbency, but I would have no problem recommending these diapers. These cloth diapers, some overnight doublers, and some wool covers would make a really easy to use stash that should last from birth to potty for an average size baby.

You can check out all the cute prints at Hurry though, these reasonably priced diapers are on sale until September 30.

Bamboo Diapers from Drybees Gone Natural

Drybees Gone Natural bamboo diapers have been eagerly awaited. The just arrived and they are

causing quite a flurry of activity! These soft, bamboo velour diapers are available in two sizes. The small size is supposed to fit 5-15 pounds and the larger size is supposed to fit 12-36 pounds. Our little tester tried a size 2 (larger size) Drybees Gone Natural. I think this diaper would have easily fit her at about 8 pounds.

She is 12 pounds now and is wearing it on the medium rise setting with plenty of room to grow. The smaller size 1 bamboo diapers should fit well on a newborn of almost any size. They are definitely small enough to use on a 4-5 pound premie through about 12-15 pounds. I would have moved Eva up to a size 2 well before 15 pounds though, as the rise is just not long enough for her on the size 1 diaper.

The Drybees Gone Natural is the next generation of Drybees adjustable bamboo diapers and I much prefer it to the original. The first Drybees one size was soft and absorbent, but was too bulky for a little baby and the lay in soaker was too much trouble to keep track of. The new bamboo diapers have a trimmer fit and two attached soakers for fast drying time.

The inner soaker snaps in and is covered by the bamboo velour topped sewn-in top soaker. The whole diaper is made with an unbleached bamboo velour outer fabric and super-absorbent bamboo fleece inner layer. This is a very absorbent diaper!

These diapers are serged in a nice rainbow thread, so they add a bit of color while still maintaining the natural look and feel of bamboo.
